i use mine now much more than my laptop, so much easier, id recommend jailbreaking the device to make the most of it and also gain free apps

I use mine 50/50 against the macbook, I used my mums keyboard/docking station and its not bad, makes it a bit easier to use when typing a lot.

I have also found the best micro sim for speed and price is with Three, o2 was painfully slow.

I got the ipad 2 64gig. The 3 was out of stock, there isnt a lot of difference between the 2 and 3, the screen resolution is better allegedly, but with my eyes i wouldnt notice. I have had an imac for about 3 years, so this addition is natural progression i suppose. After using apple kit, i could not go back to a PC, although i use one at work, the frustration kills me.

Take all the apple encryption off it which allows you to do what you want with the device without apple keeping an eye on things. Downside is it will void the warranty should you have a problem.

I have tysofts "easy cert" app, I do all my Certs on site with iPad and it's instantly ready to print off or email straight from the iPad, has full company heading and scheme logo.. I wouldn't do it any other way now

I have an electronic copy of the old big red book, and use some of the info out of it when i run the 17th course. Can i copy it somehow to the ipad?

You will need to download dropbox on both the Ipad and Mac, it is a way to sync files between them both.

At the moment iCloud does not allow you to upload PDF's and other files and folders other than pages, numbers and keynote. That is a bad, bad, move for apple as their old 'Mobile Me' allowed you to transfer what ever you liked, between devices.
I really do hope apple realise they have screwed up and sort it out.

You could always email it to yourself, as long as you have an app like PDF pro, you can open it and save it on the ipad in that app.

love mi IPad never though I would say that as have always been pro Microsoft MCSE and all that. Now I know what I have been missing for all those years. Found giffgaff for data superb also believe they are the best for pay as you go mobile. Great value. Anyone want a sim with £5 preloaded let me know and I will send you one.

Graphics are superb compared to the Ipad 2 but if its just for work. save the money and make sure it has wifi/3g to give you anywhere access.

If you have a iphone speak to your network operator about tethering your 3g connection

This way you can buy a wifi only ipad and tether the internet from your iphone

It basically makes your iphone into a wifi router which your ipad detects and connects to
