This is just a short note to say hello to everyone- hello.
I have worked as an electronics engineer for 20 years and got made redundant. My first thought was to retrain as an electrician but I couldn't get on any apprentiships because of my age. Then I found out about a self study course run by new career skills ltd. I completed the course got the qualifications C&G 2382 and 2377 plus EAL domestic installer. I realise that this won't get me work as a full scope electrician or employment, but I am planning to work as a sole trader doing domestic installation and repairs. My next job is to join a part p organisation (probably NICEIC)
I live in east Hertfordshire, if there are any experienced domestic installers who need an extra pair of hands on a job I would be happy to work for free for a while to gain some practical experience.

Welcome. Some similarities to my story.
