hello all, hope all is well, i'm a newbie so go easy on me please. i have used forums in the past and they can be a great help because of the knowledge people have. i'm currently in night school training to be a spark was until covid anyway, going back in September to complete the final year and trying to get my head in the books again. i bought a megger mft1721 and have be doing some simple test at my flat which does not involve me entering any electrical fittings, like earth loop impedance at a socket the reading i am getting are between 69 and 72 ohms Pfc is between 3 and 5 Amps i guessing these reading do not comply, but i am trying to understand what they mean also i have tt earthing arrangement and the board is covered by and rcd. many thanks

What reference materials do you have? Sounds a stupid question but EFLI and PFC are explained in BBB and OSG and with application of Ohms Law you should be able to understand how they relate to each other.

In the regs you'll want to look in (iirc) Chapters 42 and 43 and you'll want to know and understand the trip curve for the protective device that circuit is protected by to determine compliance.

(@all please correct me if I'm spouting tripe)

your readings are consistent with a TT earthing system where the Ze is in the order of 60 -70 ohms. this is the main failng with most TT systems, the PEFC will never be high enough to operate protective devices, hence the RCD used for fault protection.
