passport to ireland

hi all does any one know if you need a passport to travel from the uk to ireland have got to do a weeks work in ireland and ment to be going by ferry out there and fly back it just that passport just run out and ment to be going in 2 weeks

not sure to be honest going out there to help a mate brother out as have no work at the min and just found out that passport run out last year its allways the way

thats ok got photo driving licence just phone up the passport people and there said that u have to check with who u travel with and not sure at the min as he is ment to be booking it all thanks for the help

Went to Dublin on a stag last year....only needed my photocard driving licence. That was with Ryanair.

Photo driving licence will be fine on all flights in and out of ireland to the uk.

I'm from Ireland and I have been over in the UK 6 or 7 times this year already and I have just used my driving liecense every time

thanks for all the help been a change in plan getting ferry both ways now so hoping wont need passport now. have found out can fast track passport and get back same day for £170 so hoping wont need to get it
