Hi,

I'm interested in a house built around the 1980's in Northern Ireland. I took a few photos of the consumer unit etc. which is situated in the garage.

The house has a a double electric oven, 2 electric showers, an immersion water heater as well as all our usual electrical sockets spread throughout 5 bedrooms, 1 reception and the garage; the primary heating for the hot water and heating is oil as well as a solid fuel back boiler.

The consumer unit cupboard was a mis-mash of an old looking consumer unit and 2 smaller looking new consumer units. Is this set up normal for an older house, or would a future larger single consumer unit upgrade be recommended after purchase?

I also have a welder and air compressor which I was running off a 32A MCB in my old house, so would be wanting to run that setup in this house, as well as wanting the potential to add an 7KW EV charger in the near future; however the incoming feed cable going into the cut out doesn't look big at all so it leads me to believe this house is limited by a 60A cut out fuse therefore my future aspirations might be too ambitious?

Any expert feedback is much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Fraser
