Why do people think that it's OK to get BASIC electrical courses under their belt then seek to gain 'experience' by charging customers to 'learn' on the job to complete their training???

Would you let an unsupervised first year apprentice tyre changer fit a new engine to your car???!!!!!!!

No but i'd let a first year apprentice engine fitter fit a new engine in my car! I don't agree with the basic courses but it looks like they're here to stay for now and judging by some of the dumb questions asked on here there are some dangerous people out there fleecing the unsuspecting public out of their hard earned cash! Although there's plenty of other jobs being done by poorly trained people that are equally as dangerous! Until we get a gas safe type system and people see electricity as a dangerous a thing as gas then nothing will change! I personally don't mind the Electrical Trainee they keep me busy :) along with handyandy the handyman who can do anything and electrician bob who is supposed to be a time served spark but his work is just dangerous!

Welcome to the 21st century!!

quite simply because all your beloved nic / napit / elecsa schemes allow it , endorse it , and profit from it.

and just to add ,

imagine if the schemes only allowed JIB approved sparks to become domestic installers ?

oh what a different world we'd live in then.

;-)

well...

the thing here to bear in mind....is regardless of what these mugs being churned out of these so called `training centres` are led to believe....they are not electricians....
its as simple as that...

and when you get talking to a few of em ..like at the wholesalers...as you do....
you realise just how electrically simple they are as well...

makes me laugh underneath sometimes....
