Hi all,

i've heard that if you have say a four bulb light fitting and you leave one or multiple bulbs out this can cause the bulbs that are there to fail early because they draw more current. Is there any truth in this? Don't they draw a constant current no matter how many bulbs there are? I'm using LED bulbs but can't see that the bulb type matters.
Thanks

with standard lamps (incandescent, cfl, etc) each lamp will take the current it is designed for.
things may get more complicated with LEDs and constant current led drivers...
post some details what setup you have

Ok what would you like to know? It's a ceiling fitting which takes 4 gu10 type bulbs, it did have 4 halogen 35w spot lights and I've replaced with 5w LED spots. The LED bulbs are from ikea.
thanks

With all them bulbs you should have a nice floral decoration when they all bloom.
