hi im new to the forum,

I live in the Swansea area and currently work in an office job (9-3) pushing paper all day and am looking for a total career change and becoming an electrician.

I am looking for advice from you guys as to what is the best route to take in becoming an electrician such as;

1. What courses to take?
2. Apprenticeships?

I will be staying in my current job and doing the course in the evening as I would want some sort on income to be coming in at 23 years old.

I would really appreciate all your info and feedback,

Nathan

contact you local college/s. you need to start with c&g2365 level 2 and 3. level 2 is 2 evenings a week and takes 2 years. level 3 1 year ( i think that's right as the old 2330 took that).

2357 C&G, 1 day a week at college, rest of the week onsite(minimum of 30 hours)

Dont be tempted by a short course, it will not be anywhere near enough training to be competent.

Hi Nathan: Take a look at the courses on offer in Amman Ford college, they've got a good rep for their Electrical course's.
