Welcome email asked me to post a bit about myself, so here goes.
Being an engineer and a cheapskate, and rather good with my hands, I prefer doing repairs and projects myself when I can. I find that I often do better (and definitely cleaner) work than "professionals" and get a lot of satisfaction along the way, not to mention the monetary savings.
I hope the knowledgeable folks on this forum will be willing to share their experience and give advice when I have questions.
