Hi all,

I'm after some ideas to rig up some kind of alarm when a gate is opened at the end of a drive. I've missed a couple of deliveries now when I've been down one end of the garden and the van driver can't get an answer from the house, there's also the security aspect of not knowing when someone is on the premises. My theory is if I have some kind of contact on the gate, when that is broken a bell will sound (not continuously) at the back of the house. The distance from the house to the gate is approx 30 metres so most wireless stuff would struggle. I have had a look on t'internet but there doesn't seem to be anything suitable. If anyone has any good ideas with stuff I can get from Maplin or similar I would be very grateful.

Thanks

PIR at the gate, obviously sited so as not to pick up outside the property. use it to trigger a 230v sounder and a floodlight if you want.
