Shouldn't you be talking to the electrician who will actually be doing the job?

So the builders has finally bought in a electrician to do the job as the trenches have just finished being dug out. The electrician will be doing all the work. I asked him about the setup as well and he basically gave me a few options and one of those was what I wrote above.

Not sure what is so funny. Just curious about how all this would work, the answers I was getting back on this forum was ask the electrician (who wasn't around at the time), so I thought I would ask here considering that's the point of this forum?

I am guessing people probably take it as free advice or think I might be crazy and do the install my self.

And the kitchen,normaly a domestic kitchen is part of a domestic dwelling unless this is to be used as a small commercial kitchen.

I thought this at first too, however someone on our road this this as well (5 houses down) went to speak to them about it, and so far so good. Nothing major bills wise and they don't need to worry about using up space within the house for the cylinder etc.. One other benefit is the the plumbers are happy because they have really easy access to boiler and cylinder, normally when they are inside the house they are housed in cupboards etc... which can be a pain.

Builder bought in his own electrician who will do the wiring. However I am up for bringing in my own person? anyone here want a job, rewire whole house and the new outhouse.

LOL I work in IT, don't do any building work, getting loft, extension and new outhouse, etc.... just want a good and above board job done, so asking question. You guys are way to suspicious.

Almost, Mrs does a lot of baking on the side (she is thinking of starting a business etc..) Since we are having gas, electric and water running to the outhouse, we thought it would make sense to make a kitchen for possible future venture there, that's all.

New CU for main house
New CU for outhouse

It's a big job. The house is completely gutted now, so no need to worry about wiring runs (should be easier). The ground floor has a crawl space about 3ft and enough of the floor boards off to make wiring runs easier there.

All plaster is off the wall, and ill have the builder do any chasing etc...

With the job that far advanced it's leaving it a little late to engage an electrician, doesnt sound like a great deal of forward planning is in place.
