I think the lamp post is vertical the houses on the right are subsiding due to weight of the PV..:p

Lol. There's also some ingenuity shown there with that satellite dish doubling up as a front porch roof. That dish being just above head height also lures the eyes of casual observers away from the dodgy gutter downpipe. Very clever indeed.

How hard would it have been to do the job right.

On the 2 houses on the right move the dish off the roof 3 rows of 4 panels on each - job done. Instead of this embarrassment.

I do wonder if they realise how much those Sky dishes will drag the performance down?

They may be council/housing association installs, I have seen plenty, and if you want to see poor installs have a look at some.
Still, when/if the Green Deal ever happens, this will be the sort of quality you will see, PV installed by tender...

It is a strange configuration of panels that they've used. The only mitigation for the odd selection might be the small sky-lights slap in the middle of the roofs. (I'm guessing those little squarish things are sky-lights)

I thought about knocking on their doors to offer some advice. Didn't do it. Probably should have- what do you think?

it'll almost certainly be rent a roof stuff, knock 2 up in a day time rubbish.

At least the guy on the left has bought some B&Q red tile paint for his roof..it makes the street look much better lol

Why are the sky dishes on roof never seen this before ??

Is the Sky dish on the house behind the lamp post got it attached to the central heating vent pipe? Maybe to watch some hot and steamy programs!

This is nothing compared to some Pv installs in ballieston, Glasgow I can't remember the name of the street but on arrival to this row of bungalows with every second roof with Pv only to find trees about 3 times the size of the house running in parallel down the front of the houses totally blocking the panels!!!! The word on the street is that the council had already told the tenants about the Pv install and did not want to go back on their word and went ahead with the install. I can remember the generation readings being very low and this was a few moths ago with the trees bare.

I will get pictures if I'm ever back in the area because it is really comedy gold.

Sorry, haven't you heard about the wonder product on sale up here.

Its this amazing product that some very clever people will put onto your roof and only charge you a couple or 3 thousand. This product has some amazing properties that makes a concrete tile waterproof and not only that but helps to insulate your roof thus reducing your fuel costs.

I am amazed that more houses don't have it.

It's big business in Yorkshire. The stuff's so good, a company from Leeds specialising in this featured on "Rogue Traders" on Watchdog a few weeks ago. I can't find the clip but a written summery is available here:
