Hi there, I just want check that what I am doing is to the regs. I am not an electrician but work in related trade. I have asked a couple of electricians but they have given me different answers so I am slightly confused. I currently have a garage supply with a garage consumer unit (16a for a socket and 6a for lighting), feeding one socket, with a freezer connected and a light. The garage supply is fed from a spur off the the ring in the lounge (just a tv, x box etc). From the socket in the lounge there is a spur to a junction box and then swa to the garage (about an 8 m run). I want to to install an outdoor socket. From the spur, if I replace the junction box with a 13amp fcu, can I then feed an outdoor socket (occasional use 1600w outdoor patio heater) and the garage from this fcu?

If the spur in the lounge has a 13A fuse, and everything outside is protected by that fuse, then you can add what you like up to that 13A limit.

The circuit should, of course, be protected by an RCD or RCBO as well.
