This would be classed as outside the zones as zone 2 finishes 600mm from the edge of Zone 1 so yes.

I wouldn't bother unless it had the appropriate IP rating, ......switches and wet hands?

Course they do, how silly of me!! :D
To be fair it's a vague statement which stops Mr. Div putting their fancy brass plated dimmer switch in touching distance of their bath with wet hands, although technically you can, someone may come in after and change it to something less suited it's best to put it on the outside to be safe!

....................... it's best to put it on the outside to be safe!

A fool will always find a way to be unsafe.
My 13 year old daughter keeps running an extension lead into the bathroom to plug her radio or hair dryer into.
Keep telling her it's not a good idea, but they don't listen at this age.

she's female. she's a teenager, and you expect her to listen?????

we know its better to be outside but it does make me laugh when the inspectors get all upset by it when in fact its ok, also surprising that they publish wrong info

Pocket guide 2 from NICEIC states that 230 volt plate switches are allowed outside of the zones
