^^^ and that is the final post on the subject ^^^

as a foot note Gents, please do not think that I am a soft touch due to my every day jovial postings and putting a "lol" at the end of most posts. I'm a right "bar-steward" , I just dont show it most of the time. No more comments about Mentors please.

Any more posts about this, the member, regardless of who it is will be banned for 2 days.

paul thats that's pointing to my post lol.

The slight difficulty with the training section is getting the trainees involved, there are significant numbers not asking questions, we have already tried fairly hard to encourage responses with some success, but further work is needed.

I think the competitions go down well but even the "post for a prize" was not as good as I expected. However competitions and prizes cost money which is not in high supply on my side.

Though I do have a 1.5-3.0 Nm torque screwdriver that I could donate as a prize, which may be useful for new electricians; they may actually use them!

I thought the phrase approach was good but I failed to contribute as I have been a little pushed recently.

Probably the easiest thing is to provide information such as Davesparks has said. I think straightforward advice can be illuminating to trainees.
There is the consideration that this will not get involvement only consuption, but it would be a useful resource and this is why we are there.

Richard is spot on in my opinion, I put the very same question as paul but to the trainees in the ts basically asking what they would like to see more of and too be fair I was slightly dissapointed and surprised by the lack of replies from the Trainees. I think regarding Mentors we have enough it is an influx of new Trainee's that is needed.

Well said Richard, very good points there. Thank you.

Over a year ago I was thrown/offered into a position of "Mod of the TS" by Dan and the Staff. Welcomed it with open arms knowing that it would not be easy. Think I've done ok with the fantastic help and backing of the Staff and Mentors. That is what this section is all about! GMES became a partner and a lot of things became a lot easier. It is great having such a strong man along side, both aiming for the same goal, now DW as well. What a strong team for the TS plus the strength/years of knowledge from the Mentors. Nothing but respect for you all.

It's the summer break for colleges at the moment, quiet in the TS for now and the staff have a bit of work to do behind the scenes (applicants and who we should accept). I really need to build that section up by September. New members are coming so we need to welcome them and get a rap-our going from the start. New threads are going to be started in the hope that the new members get involved.

At the end of the day this is just a chat room for students. BUT the satisfaction of the Trainees phoning me saying they have just passed whichever exam fills me with confidence and pushes me to do better for the following year.

Cant wait until September
