Hey guys!
This may seem like a dumb question to ask, I’m new to all of this and am trying to learn for myself and am stuck!
So on the previous car I owned I wired up my light bar to the positive and ground cable connecting to my high beam wires, this worked fine! I know I’m meant to have a switch and relay and all that but I just did a quick job and it works fine!
BUT....
On the car I own now, it has H4 Globes.

If you don’t know what these are, it’s basically a pair of globes that switch from low beam and high beam where as generally a car has four globes ( two low beam, two high beam)

I thought that It would be as easy as testing which wire has 12V flowing through it when high beams are on and 0.00v when the high beams are off..

For some reason, (because I don’t know what I’m doing)

Two out of the three wires connecting to my globe have 12v running through them and the ground obviously has 0.00v

When I flick the high beams on they still have 12v running through them..

Pls help, I hAve no idea and cannot be bothered running a relay, fuse and switch..
Thanks, Max.

TL;DR
Led bar
Wiring up high beam
H4 globes
Car
wire the light bar independent through a manual switch with indication when on.
