I thought this was going to be about the SR71, very disappointed, living Rurally as I do the garden this morning had our normal gang of four male Pheasants plus a few female, the normal ten or so Pigeons, Wrens flying in and out of the small conifers, and the smallest bird in the UK as well, anyone know what that is? no cheating and looking it up.

My wife got me all excited this morning. She was in the kitchen and shouted at me to ' come and see these ----'. It turned out they were 'long tailed ----' on the feeder in the garden ☹️

No the wren is not the smallest bird in the UK.

Isn't it a golden something or other? I can't remember it's name but it's tiny.

Look up Gold-crest the Firecrest is slightly bigger, but not by much, you would not believe the size of the Gold-crest nest, about the size of a golf ball, hanging on the underside of a conifer branch, the Wrens roost in a wicker nesting basket I have hanging outside the office.
