Good morning.
Needed some advice please. I am getting an AC condenser unit installed on an outer bedroom wall but only after some internal renovations have been done in the room. I booked an electrician to install a 32Amp isolator switch to the external wall for the AC installer to connect to. Unfortunately the electrician can’t make it till after the renovations are done. This risks my brand new wall plaster and flooring being damaged if he needs to make holes so to help, I plan to throw the “required” wires under the floorboards and out the other end before the works commence so he has an “available” wire for his use. One end being at the fuse box as I know it has to be hard wired and not part of a spur. I am also getting a new double socket installed in a new location in the room.
My question is, which type of wire should I buy for:
1. The outside 32Amp isolator switch?
2. The new internal double socket?
3. Is it just one wire needed for each one or do I need to throw 2 down for each?
There will be an element where the wire for the isolated switch needs to be clipped to the outside wall when it emerges from the brick. Will it therefore need to be the special Armoured type? 6 or 10mm 3 core? Will it be the normal 6mm for the internal socket?
Thanks
