Yes. I have used a Metrel easi plus MI3000 meter in the past. I found it very user friendly and a joy to use. It was standard kit at a foundry i worked for. It was exposed to heat –dirt- dust- steam -water and a few drops over the time I was there. Despite all that it always read true and never failed once. However for me it doesn’t look as good as a Fluke dangling from your shoulder .They do look the part.
I was also working to a budget when I contemplated buying one. In the end I went for a used calibrated fluke through ebay, it still works a treat today after 3years.Cost me £230.The thing is ,if you don’t get on with a certain brand you can always resell it and buy a different one on ebay at not much of a loss.
When your flush you could always buy one of the lastest bluetooth models.

Just bought one myself and used it on the 2391, the only thing is im trying to find out how to zero the leads on a continuity setting... anyone know?

Hold the probes together, press test.
Once you have a reading, press and hold the CAL Button, until Co appears at the topof the screen.

Connect the test leads to the EasiPLUS instrument. Before performing an Low Ω resistance measurement, compensate for the test leads resistance as follows:
1. Short test leads.
2. Press the TEST key in order to perform regular measurement. The
displayed result should be close to 0.00 Ω (depending on the length of test
leads used).
3. Press the CAL key. After performing test leads compensation the
compensated test leads indicator Co will be displayed on the top line of the display.
4. If you should wish to remove any test lead resistance compensation, follow the procedure described in step3 with test leads separated from one another. After removing any test lead compensation, the compensation indicator will disappear from the top line of the display.

To remove, just press and hold the CAL button, untill it beeps and the Co goes away.

I bought one a month or so back and love it, used to use a fluke 1653b and tbh I prefer the metrel, its quicker overall than the fluke i'd say.

I've just bought one and find it quite easy to use and I like it a lot! I was a bit worried as I trained using a Megger and that was very simple, but after a couple of tests with the Metrel I am more than happy with it!
