Morning all, thought it would be a good idea for me to post photos up of some of the on site work experience I do while going through my level 2 & 3 2365 at college over the next few years

All questions welcome, as is constructive criticism etc...

Will keep editing this post adding photos as I go along

Cheers

Matt

Ok Matt I'll get the ball rolling for you mate. I've got a couple of pics of your work on my phone BUT for some reason they are not marrying up to each other atm (I might have to get a marriage guidance councilor on the job lol). PM me your email address and I'll send them over to you so you can post them up.

hope you're going to post a pic of some DB cover screws. LOL.:21:

Here is a pic of my first attempt of wiring up a 3 phase D.B

I was slow, im sure Paul will agree with me there, but just wanted to make sure all terminations were tight, in their correct places and corresponded to the correct circuits / lines on the earth & neutral bars

Cheers

Matt

Cracking jobs Matt! experience on site like that is priceless... credit to Paul.M as well for taking the time to give opportunities like this to people starting out in the trade. :icon4:

nice job. see you left paul the screwdriver when you left with the screws!!! LOL.

Thank you mate, really appreciate the feedback

Definitely a big thanks to Paul, absolutely brilliant guy who is more than happy to pass on his knowledge to people, providing they show interest and put the effort in to the work he asks them to do

Howdy do Matt!

Re 1st pic...very nice! :-)
If they're SWAs, I think it's a good idea to leave as much of the cable bedding on as possible, keeps the cores together and tidy.

You cant tel be the pic but there are SY 5 core, 6mm and 10mm for kitchen appliances. This new board is not going to be moved or the circuit breakers inside them so I made the decision to make off each at the length needed for the DB. Due to the lay out of the kitchen and building structure, I was able to coil up a good length on each underneath a work bench away from heat etc. Plenty of scope to move any of the cookers, grills, and whatever the others are called (think its called a broiler??) so its very easy for the next spark to make changes to the layout of the kitchen and the board if needed. Just one those things Archey mate, do I leave cable in the board or ready for future use/movement? If anybody saw the set up, you would agree.

Anyway, what do you think of his first time on a board? Not bad at all for someone that only started college in September! Well done Matt but as I said, "do this board, take a picture and next time do better. Then do the same again, and again, and again......" Pride in your work is one thing that you have learnt my friend. Well done.
