Hi there - can anyone help? Got a Citroen Dispatch van (56 plate), and the driver's side indicators, front and back, have a habit of staying on (not blinking - just fixed on) when used in the rain. It doesn't happen any other time than shortly after it rains.

I've had a good poke around and can't see any water dripping into the fuse box or anywhere else in the cabin from the engine bay.

However the scuttle panel below the windscreen does seem to let some rain water leak into the engine bay due to a poor design, so I wonder if this might have something to do with it.

Anyone heard of this before? Anything obvious I can check? Help!

Many thanks,
Justy

If it were me I would check the indicator lamps front and back to see if water is getting into any causing a short on possible pc boards which usually accommodate the light clusters

I'd check all the indicator lights local earth connections as well. High proportion of indicator and light problems are caused by corroded earth connections like this one;

Couldn't find any probs with the rear lights, no sign of water getting in or corroded earth connections. Bizarrely though, it's got better and not causing the problem so often. I don't know if I've jogged something back into place with unscrewing everything or if that's a coincidence. Next job is to divert some of the water which runs into the engine bay from the windscreen, I still have a sneaky suspicion that's got something to do with it. Hmmmmm, still a mystery really :-(

Perhaps see if the rain is pooling on the indicator relay, it may be just getting enough current across the coil when wet to operate and keep the lights on, are they dimmer than usual when they are permanently on?

Does this happen when you have other lights on or not, sometimes there can be back feeds through other lamps
