Hi, we have a floor buffer for commercial floors. The buffer would not come on when plugged in and start handle pulled. I examined the two capacitors and one had crystals at the hole in the top, like it had been leaking. I replaced like for like and reconnected the wires as they were. I replaced both capacitors. They were both the same value and, a far as I could tell, wired in series, which means double the value of one capacitor?
The buffer now will come on but it's switching on-off, on-off repeatedly.
I've attached pictures of the wiring and a video of the buffer running. There is some motor noise in the back ground, which is the large A/C system running. The clicking on-off and running about what feels like half-speed sound is the buffer.
Maybe I got a bad capacitor? Maybe they should be wired differently? (Two wires are all that come from the motor, so not like a start cap and run cap set up) Maybe the motor is shot?
Any helpful tips or advice?
