I need to connect a replacement motor for a septic tank agitator.
I've identified that the motor needs to be connected to a 4mf run capacitor but the wiring diagram (attached) looks strange.
I was expecting to see one set of windings connected straight to live/neutral and the other set connected via the capacitor
But looking at this. it looks like both are connected via the capacitor. How does that work? Am I reading the diagram correctly?

A capacitor only has two connections to it, but many are fitted with double connectors. The terminal connected to the black or white wire is physically the same bit of metal that the neutral is connected to. Similarly, the terminal that the blue wire is connected to is physically the same piece of metal as the unused one. The neutral wire could be connected to the same terminal as the black or white wire, but this would involve making a joint.

Thanks Brian - that makes perfect sense. The diagram is a bit misleading but glad you've pointed me in the right direction :)
