bllody hell they don't half make this hard work!

firstly i had difficulty in getting to somehwere where I could photocopy all my certs, i had to chase people for referecnces and to sign forms, i had to go and get some passport photos done, i had great difficulty in getting my photo verified (jobcentre and police as suggested on the form wouldn't do it as they didn't know me personally) in the end i had to get my probabtion officer to do it. and then i had to find my health and safety cert which took ages.
and now i have all of that ready to send in an envolope, i don't know who to write the cheque out to! can't see it written anywhere on the form? anybody know or am i going to have to ring the helpline

You make the cheque out to 'JIB' - it says on the form.

Exarmy can i ask what grading they ve said they ll give you?
Iv got pretty much the same as you and i got Labourer..

I don't know yet, will have to wait and see. i got my employer (an electrical company) to sponsor me and reccomend me for the grade of trainee electrician stage 3. I don't see why i can't get that grade, i meet all the criteria i think.
but it wouldn't surprise me if i got "labourer". not really bothered anyway as i just need a ECS card regardless as some jobs i've seen specify that i have one. and they are mates jobs, so i don't think potential employers are going to care, just as long as i've got a card.

oh and thanks adam W, i eventually found it on the form, right at the back!

I got my card in the post today, electrical trainee stage 2.
all i sent off was copies of my certificates, got my employor to fill in section 10, and my college enrollment form for the NVQ. to be honest I should be stage 3 according to their criteria but oh well

Im having to send my stuff to them,and ive been told id be a labourer,after several years experience in the trade i dont quite like the title,but hey what can u do,labourer it is then.

ExArmy, I left in Jan this year 22 years in REME, got my quals from the army in electrical engineering (equiv to NVQ Level 3) did 17th, part P, 2391 level 3, just got my ECS/JIB card back, Gold Card - Electrical Fitter, I am currently doing advanced diploma in Electrical Installations and design (2330 equiv), but Electrical fitter will do me as got work in a factory/industrial enviroment as a building maintenance engineer, machines, small installations, fault finding and 3 phase work.

To get stage 3 trainee you have to show that your enrolled on a NVQ3 course IIRC

Yes my application was long winded too, originally came back as stage 3 trainee, when i called them they said " we havnt recieved your NVQ3 cert", they must have done as it was photocopied and double checked along with the rest

Finally got my gold card a few weeks back
