Hi all,

After a completely rubbish 18months with this pandemic and redundancy i wanted a change a started the 2365 nvq path lvl 2 & 3

Question is i am looking to try and get a ecs card ready for myself but i have a few months left of my lvl 2.

I have noticed alot of jobs on offer are asking for one and i would like to have mine to hand so if anything gets offered i can be available asap.

Any advice appreciated...

Unfortunately without the NVQ L3 you'll probably get a trainee card or whatever the ungraded card is called.

Smaller firms who domestic and small works probably won't require a card so that may be an avenue for you to try.

Yeah, can get a trainee / improver card which tbh is what you would expect as you are not yet qualified. That will still get you on site as you will still have done H&S exam to even get that. As soon as you have NVQ3 and AM2 then you can get a ECS gold card graded as "Electrician" grade.

I recently applied and recieved my ECS Electrical Labourer card as im starting off in the industry.

This is with my level 2 2365 and the ECS health and safety exam. I’m currently employed by an electrical firm who also had to endorse me for the card and confirm I’m competent.

I’m unsure if you would still need the endorsement if you’ve already completed your Level 3 (im just in my last month of the course, so wasn’t able to submit my certificate for it at the time)
