No neutrals should be connected to the Light switches.

Yes with Live one side and neutral the other it was bound to go pop! on both S1 & S2

yes, worked then went pop, chat gbt advised connecting brown from power in s1 and s2 to l1 and l2, and brown from bulb 1 and b2 to l2 on s1 and s2, then removing blues from common on s1 and s2 and joining them with a block, still not working

Please get someone who knows what they are doing to help you out.

Wiring using Ai is a terrible idea,ai does not understand country differences and often mixes them and states things as fact.
Get someone professional in for a few hours.

Without going into detail, and not giving a step by step guide.... maybe an education in simple circuits?

(This is the moment i look at the internet for an easy to follow diagram, and i cant find one!)

Your simple circuit is a source, the Live cable, going to a switch, coming from the switch to a load, your light, and back to the source as a neutral.
As mentioned, there are no neutrals connected to a switch, but they may be present in the box behind.
Just because its blue, it doesn't mean its a neutral. This is where AI gets it completely wrong.

Redo your diagram, ignoring the earths for the time being, showing just 1 switch, 1 light, and we can expand help from there.

No need. I’m sure it will give him a clue.
However, OP not been seen for a week
Let's hope "chat gbt" didn't give him even worse advice.
