I'm working in an office, I have a main ring of lights in conjuction with emergency led lighting and emergency lights at the fire exits. could someone please explain the circuits for me please as I want to split the circuit up. thank you.

I think the OP is asking the best way to wire a office that has emergency lights fitted as well.
I'm presuming he's asking from a testing point of view.... I think.....

OP: Clarification of what you are actually after would be good.

Its looking like he wants to split the emergency lights from the general lighting and put them onto separate circuits?

No point guessing guys, wait for the OP to clarify exactly what sort of system he is working on and exactly what the plans for alterations are.

I have seen it where emergency lights are supplied from a different circuit to the main lighting circuit which is not a very good idea as unless you have a total failure of the supply.

Maintained emergency fittings are fine in this situation, unless there is building control or local licensing specifying what they want.

Hi sorry guys, I need to fit an emergency light as well as a set of sealing lights in an office, I'm just looking for a wiring schematic to follow so that I can make sense of it all, I've checked BS5266 however I cant find the relevant information. Thank you.

Jonathan.

Thank you Richard, long may it continue.
Very kind of you, I am only providing basic information that may help. If it has helped then this is good and I am also pleased.
