socket in fireplace wall

doing a rewire and was wondering if i can leave the original socket in the side of fireplace,it is not being used as a chimney?

Is the socket going to be used for anything? If so, new cables and a new socket face. If not, rip it out and plaster over

Yes, you can leave it in the existing position

its going to be used for tv.they don't want it ripped out so i changed cover and connected it to new ring upstairs.

Cant see any problems leaving it not breaking any reqs not that I'm aware of
