Hello, I’m new to the forum and the world of electrics (do property maintenance but been part P registered since last year) and I have a bit of a problem.

Basically I bought two drums of 1.5 T&E from my local electrical factor and one of them was twin brown and earth . . . I have put it into a house that im working in and have just discovered that it isn’t blue and brown (while stripping an off cut as I was bored eating my lunch)

My question is, can I just sleeve one conductor with blue each end (just two feeds to the lights on each floor) of have I got to rip it out and start again?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Ian

Have a look at the inside of the brown cores one of them could have a white ring i noticed this last year when i installed twin brown on a rewire some cable manufacturers do make cable this way you can identify which core to use at the switch if you need a permanent live to pick up a wall light

Think all twin brown and cpc has to be marked due to reg 514.5.1.... Have a look tomorrow and see if one of the browns is marked with a letter, number or Arabic numerals.
