uk voltage question about a european amp

Absolutely loads of cables on ebay in various lengths. Look at this on eBay 3m Long IEC Kettle Lead Power Cable 3 Pin UK Plug PC Monitor C13 Cord - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371886492718 I remember my dad buying a load of Pioneer hi-fi separates in Germany, shipped them over here, bought some...

    Ikea - sockets in units

Why do they want them in the cupboards so you then either have to chop the appliance fitted plug off voiding any warranty or drill a big hole in the side of the cabinet to pass the plug through? I prefer my sockets behind the appliances with switched fused spurs with neons above. No issues with...

Replacing old double light switch with new, odd wiring?

To simplify it for you, the red coming into the metal box that goes to "common" is your permanent live. When you flick the switch it makes the contact so the power can go back out through the other red in the "1 way" terminal to the light or fan. The small red cable on picture 2 in both commons...

    Adding new double sockets

If you are a spark you might get more help over in the Electrical Forum rather than the DIY forum. There are some really helpful people on here but also plenty of wind up merchants too! Electrical Forum - http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/forums/electrical-forum.15/

    Poor Workmanship In Rental Property

As well as what you mentioned why would you also tile around the cables rather than chasing them in and tiling over???? Poor job all round by the look of it. I bet there was plenty more you could have listed through the property if thats the standard of work they are happy with.

Ring Final Cable Routing Through Bungalow Loft

In this case all i am doing is removing an existing extension of the 2.5mm ring to replace it with new to allow for sockets where we actually want them before the 2 bedrooms are replastered. The original cables were buried in insulation in places, not clipped to joists. In other areas they were...

Ring Final Cable Routing Through Bungalow Loft

I bet that could get expensive. If the fella isnt happy when he comes to to connect and test then i will put that idea to him. I would need a good few lengths though! What do they do with regards to cable runs in new builds with all that insulation, anyone know? Ive read that it is not an issue...

    intruder alarm tamper fault!

Is this tamper issue sorted now? Ive fitted 4 of these in my past houses and have another sat here to go in current house. The only time ive had a tamper issue was on the bell box wall reed switch. I ended up looping it out, probably a faulty switch. I cant remember the symptoms (showing...

Ring Final Cable Routing Through Bungalow Loft

1 and 3 are fine Tel but its 2 thats always going to be the issue as cables have to go under insulation at some point no matter how they are run. They are all clipped to the ceiling joists, timbers and walls rather than just laid across the plasterboard so that should help with the potential...
