    Megger MFT1721 Err76

Cheers Avo, I had seen that post but it makes no difference what position the switched are in. I just figured that as it was a few years ago someone else may have experienced the same problem

    Megger MFT1721 Err76

Picked up a 2nd hand megger mft1721 yesterday after my tools got stolen from my van and needed one in a hurry 😡 Seemed ok when I picked it up, checked it and did a few basic tests all ok. Today it’s showing err76 and shuts down after a few seconds. I’ve tried changing the batteries and...

Can I sign off my own work? New 2014 laws?

It really is quite straightforward, if you want to sign you own work off and register with a scheme provider, then pick up the phone and ask THEM what qualifications they require. As for pricing, you know what you need/want to earn per day. Work out how long each job will take, add materials...

Anyone a spark for British Gas????? What are they like to work for.

There is a decent van stock, as a spark it's not really monitored that closely, but you have to use common sense ie someone is going to notice if you are ordering loads of tools or materials with no real reason. I do quite a bit of install work, but then I know people who never do any and always...

Anyone a spark for British Gas????? What are they like to work for.

No not on call as such, just working late and weekends, mainly to cover work where these appointments are more convenient for customers.

Anyone a spark for British Gas????? What are they like to work for.

Yep I work for them, have done for 7 years, regularly go into old people's houses scaring them into getting work done that is not necessary, who cares, we get a commission and you've got to look after number one........ At least that is what a lot of people on this forum think we are like, I've...

Why can't they all be like that!

I'm finishing off a job today which I started a few weeks ago. When I was last there the customer asked what to do about payment, I told him not to worry and that I'd bill him when I'd finished the work. He said 'no no no, here you are', and gave me £200 to be on with!

Who still enjoys being an electrician?

I still love it. Predominantly do domestic, have always been employed but set up my own little business just over a year ago to try and go it alone (am still employed too but gotta build it up slowly!) Seem to be picking up quite a lot of work now. I take pride in my work and think it's paying...

    Metrel 3002 battery charger

What about Metrel themselves? They aren't all that far from you (Wakefield) and from what I am led to believe they are easy to deal with :-)

    CK armour slice

I maybe didn't make myself quite clear, I wasn't talking about using a power tool for literally everything! But having suffered from RSI in my forearm (and yes, I have heard all the jokes), then I don't put undue strain on it where there is a suitable alternative!
