    Wireless PIR & receivers

Yes that's not a bad idea, so long as it will work with no load on it (hence my bench test with 45w). Will give that a go. Thanks.

    Wireless PIR & receivers

Morning All, I have a customer request for a wireless PIR system, receiver above the front door & 3 sensors in the garden. The lights required to energise are all LED and total 45w. Ive bench tested the timeguard offering (which does say not for use with LED) and sure enough it doesn't turn...

    Community Defibrillator

Done a couple, very easy. They were on a council buildings & wanted isolation inside so switchless spurs. Remember they have to be fitted with disabled access in mind (both ive done had the stated height on the installation paper but varied slightly) 1000mm from FFL to lock/catch. I'm not sure...

Am i the only one who gets these customers?!

I cant be the only one... Just had a chap call me asking for a quote, He is apparently building 2 studio flats above his shop. Asked him to forward me the plans to which he replied he had none - but its ok because he knows what he wants (he was on a roll now), 20 double sockets in each, a...

PIR Wall lights with SW & L terminals

That may just be the solution bud. The Screw fix could potentially be opened up but they are cheaply made & not sure how the customer would feel about me invalidating any warranty. Thanks for the replies chaps.

PIR Wall lights with SW & L terminals

That is the lights the customer purchased, but with only L,N &E and no way of fitting a direct feed to the lamp for the SW I cant see a way of getting that to work with the driveway PIR.

PIR Wall lights with SW & L terminals

Dear all, Please see attached a picture of a wall light from a customers house. The customer has 5 of these in total, they are now getting old and failing (poss due to running led lamps in non led fittings) Each light has a built in pir. They are all wired together from 1 switch inside the...

Wall Chasing Machine for installing electrical wiring?

I have a mains one & extractor but the dust created is massive. Only recommended if doing a full house refurb/rewire & no other trades there - you also need a decent mask & goggles. On softer wall surface a fein saw (or similar) offers nice neat chases.

    applying diversity

For me, (and I'm new here but not to the trade) if the customer if going to such a full extent of refurb, I would definitely have put in a dedicated 6mm cooker feed. Although not completely future proof the likelihood is that most future changes of cooker can then be accommodated. Also, using...

New Build Home with plasitc CU

That's my thought. I questioned this back in May during my annual assessment & the Stroma guy insisted that any boards fitted after July 1st had to be non combustible. Usual ambiguous regs, we could all suggest that we designed a new install 3 years ago... Sorry to clarify, as I said its a...
