If the panels came at low or now cost, there's a good case for reusing a working system ...it's wasteful not to. If it was working at the time of removal, there's no reason to assume that it won't continue to do so.
A visual check and output test will establish if the panels are damaged.

When I last installed SMA inverters, back in 2011, the standard warranty was 5 years but warranty extensions up to 25 years could be purchased.
The SMA US website states the standard warranty is 123 months from date of shipment, which seems to suggest that you have a warranty extension package.
Not even just profit margins, which are pretty small in percentage terms. All that grid infrastructure has a cost to operate, which isn't covered if electricty is bought and sold at the same price.
It's considered to be a shortfall - 'net metering' isn't a part of the offer. Even if it were to become a part of the offer, there would likley be a requirement to measure consumption and export seperately, for accounting purposes, however, net metering is unlikley to ever be offered, becasue...
Yes, 'containment' is effective. In fact just twisting the cables together into a 'twisted pair' has beneficial effect, because of a cancelling effect that comes into play by doing so - widely used in data cables ...but there are practical challenges in achieving that under a solar array ...it...
Among the things I have looked at is EMC heatsrink, which contains an EMC 'mesh' and drain wire ....That would work but it's eyewateringly expensive ....so it's impractical. Thanks for the suggestions; at least it seems like I'm not missing anything blindingly obvious ....I'll keep looking.
SY/CY are also things I've considered but, as someone else commented, the screening may be inadequate. If I could find a foil screened equivelent that might work. I haven't checked the datasheet but I suspect that 4mmsq SY/CY isn't going to fit into an MC4.
Morning ....actualy a long time member of the forum from back in the PV 'hayday' but I've been out of this game since 2011.
I have considered stainless flexi-conduit but it might mean cutting off all the MC4s at the panels and re-terminating once the conduit is installed. I'm not averse to that...
Has anyone come across screened PV cable?
As a personal interest I have an amateur radio licence. My own PV system (inverter) generates switching noise, which radiates from the DC loops on the roof, causing interference to HF radio reception. I've improved things substantially by installing a...
I think what you're asking is 'what happens to electricity exported by unmetered solar PV systems' ....assuming that's the case ....it just disappears into the grid. It doesn't get measured at any stage. Arguably, there will be a drop in the amount of fossil fuels consumed on the generating...
In my view, an 'in-roof' sysem is the best way of going about this. Ideally, storing the removed roofing material somewhere safe for future re-installation, should that be necessary.
SMA offers a repair service, however, when I had cause to enquire a couple of years ago it was terrible value for money ....customer eventually sourced a new-old-stock replacement 3000HF, with 5 year warranty, for notably less than the cost of a repair - which only offered 12 months warranty.
