    You do not need to do an apprenticeship. What you need is to get a job within the industry as an electrical labourer or electricians mate. Complete your level 2&3.     With regards to wiring a 20A circuit using 4mm this is perfectly feasible dependant on cable types and correction factors, i.e grouping, ambient temperature etc

    rcd keeps tripping

    It could be an accumulation of fault currents which turning on the washing machine just tips over the top. First step disconnect everything and IR test the circuit. Ensure the wiring is electrically sound first.

    Or I could run the SWA straight from the garage to a weatherproof box by each light and then terminate to the light with flex? This obviously the more time consuming and the expensive choice. This is possibly the best choice, however EV charge point installers are using Hi Tuff cables to avoid...
