Texecom elite app adding extra users

I don't fit alarms as my main job but have fitted quite a few over the years whilst we were doing the electrics side of things. I usually fit the Texecom Premier 24 or Elite as I now think its called. The last one I did the householder wanted app control and I had to sign up with Texecom to get...

UK Landlord Trying to Deduct Deposit for Unnecessary Electrician Test.

They are obviously trying to scam you and will probably get away with it, so, as you are an electrician create some faults that only a magician could find that will show up on the EICR they are about to have done. You could then charge them £300 for info on how to fix it.

    Emergancy work flow

How old are you, I used to work all the hours god sends when I was younger but I'm 53 now and you have no chance of getting me to work past 4.30PM, and even less of a chance on a Saturday, don't care what the problem is.

    Easy cert

I always used to use the free forms I found on-line, they were a little bit out of date but still held all the relevant information and were good enough in my opinion to issue to customers. The beauty of them was I could fill in all the duplicated information and save the template so completing...

    Snakes and ladders.

You've not lived a full life if you've never fallen off a ladder. I did it a while ago painting at home, armed with a cheap B&Q set of aluminium steps on a slippy laminate floor, the steps snapped on the bar that goes under the platform and the ladders ended up on the floor looking like a new...

    Confused - Telaris 0100 plus

One of these, I've still got mine in the van and use it as a backup meter. Bought it in about 2005 or so and it still works perfectly. From the top of my head, the first is voltage/frequency etc, then low ohms using the comp button to zero the leads, then insulation testing. After that is the...

Cooker and kitchen power cables to be enclosed in rockwall

Insulation doesnt cause cables to heat up, it just stops them dissipating the heat they produce. If a cable doesnt get warm in free air it wont get warm in insulation.

    Mira decor shower not working.

Mira showers with the computerised PCB in them go wrong all the while, we connected up 30 odd new showers in a retirement complex for a plumbing firm, within 12 months they had to change about 25% of them, the showers were under warranty but their labour and ours wasn't, cost them a fortune.

CCTV what coaxial cable needed for Hikvision DS2CE72KF3T-E

They're not power over co-ax are they, in my opinion never do it this way. I don't mind co-ax CCTV, the picture is just as good as the POE cameras but I would always run separate 12V power to cameras (even the POC cameras have a separate 12V connection. The one and only time I tried POC I had...

UK Off-Peak / Peak Immersion Heaters

Electrician is talking rubbish, the E7 timer instructions even mention putting a link between the off peak and on peak terminals when there is only one element. Also how can the timer be connected to the off peak supply, the time will go wrong every time the off peak supply goes off. Needs...

    The wisdom of equipotential bonding

Thats a freak accident though, it could just as easilly been anything that killed him. It could very well have been a double insulated bench grinder that damaged the flex which then came to rest on the body of the grinder, that too would just as easily become live and complete the circuit if you...

    The wisdom of equipotential bonding

Inside the equipotential zone pretty much the only things that are capable of introducing and earth path are the things that will be bonded anyway. Even if little Timmy touches something that is at 230V in bare feet it doesn't matter because the floor is pretty much insulated, it might be carpet...

Can plastic trunking be used in a commercial kitchen

I know this won't help with the job but why are so many builders insistent on plastering etc before services have gone in. We were at a job the other day that has had a fire upstairs only, as they wasn't touching downstairs really they decided to put a new chipboard floor down all upstairs. I...

Qualifications needed for self employed electricians

Unless you are a fully paid up member of the JIB gold club with every qualification going then as far as I know you will need to complete the AM2 before the part P scammers will even take an interest in you.
