As the above showed, all you need is one of the kits that lights up the back of a flat screen tv. Already designed to run on 5 volts, You can get a RGB version and most come with some kind of simple fade/pulse feature. Can be cut to length also.
Good luck.
Please post a finished product...
My understanding is the having leads different lengths can cause a variance in brightness. I would try and see if extra wire lead can be bundled and hidden. I have a feeling that the 3 meter run may be a bit dimmer then the other two.
Have a good day.
I took a few pics of my kitchen LED project. Believe it or not, these pics were taken with the LEDs at half brightness.
6500K for the upper and 3700K for the bottom LEDs.
Have a good day.
Just did something similar. In the pic with the drawing, the right side is the way to go. Wire leads should be all the same length for all runs.
I'm running two parallel runs, each containing three sections in series. One for under the upper cabinets and one for under the lower cabinets...
Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately, it would be wiring mess, having to use two 30 AMP relays and a button that would have to be held down to sound the air horn. My auto electrical installs need to appear as though they are part of the car, not an after thought. All wiring is properly...
Thanks for the fedback.
Basically they are two separate wiring systems. The grounds are tied together in the drawing for simplicity's sake. The only place that they actually interact is where the path to the steering wheel horn button from the IPDM is diverted while going thru the LVPRB.
The...
After reviewing the Service Manual wiring diagram dealing with the horn, I realized that the above schematic was wrong and will not work.
Here's a corrected schematic that should would work as desired.
If anyone sees something wrong, please let me know. Thanks.
Have a good day.
I'm adding a Air Horn setup to my car. I want to keep the OEM Horns operational, which the car uses for the alarm and such, while operating either horn using the steering wheel horn button.
Here's a pic of the Air Horn and compressor mounted before replacing the grill:
The main reason I'm...
Interior lighting is controlled by the common "door ajar" switch in each door, triggered whenever any door latch is not fully closed. With Ford all you get on the dash is a "door jar", regardless of which door is open. Cheap!
Nissan and Toyota have separate ground points that connect to each...
Unfortunately, the switch is built into the door latch itself. It's funny that the connector has 6 wires, with #2 marked "Not Used". Wondering if #2 really connects to the unused pin on the switch. I'll have to verify when the time comes. Thanks for the help.
Maybe someone with auto...
Thanks for the reply.
I'll be checking 4 doors, so don't think I want that kind of electrical draw all the time that the first suggestion points out.
I believe that the second option might be the solution. I plan on using these miniature board mounted relays...
I'd like to add individual footwell lighting and have the lighting come on when each door is opened individually. I've found the wire locations and looking at the wiring diagram, I not certain which way to wire a relay to properly detect when the switch is open to trigger the LED light to come...
