UK Running power to garden room

@SJD - I did wonder about that but I have a double pitched roof, two lofts that aren't connected. I can't see a way of running cable under the gully that runs down the centre of the mine and the neighbours roofs. @Taylortwocities - Sorry, the title said room, the description said office. So a...

UK Running power to garden room

Thanks all. For a bit more information I'm in a 200 year old terrace so can't run cable round the outside. I've also done all the floors and ceilings so I know there's no chance of running cable across the ceilings. I have two possible internal plug points that I could take from, both are on the...

UK Running power to garden room

Hi all. I'm thinking about adding a garden office and will obviously need power. Can power be taken from a normal plug socket somewhere at the rear of the house, or does it need its own circuit from the main consumer unit? If it needs it's own circuit it's a non starter project as I don;t want...

    Spur from a spur cable??

With reference to the prescribed zones, am I correct in saying that includes 150mm around the top of a wall where it meets the ceiling? Does it need to be in conduit or shielded or can it just be sunk into mortar? And yes, it's all RCD protected!

    Spur from a spur cable??

Ok. So firstly thanks to everyone who’s provided info. Much appreciated. There’s still a chance I’m just gonna get someone in to sort the lot, mainly because of the location of the cabling being in a channel at the bottom on the wall. But for the sake of interest, it turns out the radial...

    Spur from a spur cable??

Not sure, I'll check tonight but I have a feeling it's the later, since I don't remember ever seeing a breaker just for the one double socket on a radial circuit. This is why I'm wondering if I should add an FCU somewhere.

    Spur from a spur cable??

Ah ok. I never knew that a single line was actual a radial. The name suggests something different. 1573048001 Not sure but I can check tonight

    Spur from a spur cable??

Hi All, I'm adding a new double socket in my living room, which I had intended to tie into an existing cable (that goes to an existing double plug - see pic) using a 30a junction box and create a spur. I've added the socket, run all the 2.5mm t+e behind metal shielding in a channel at the...
