Wiring a Hive Heating Dual Channel Receiver SLR2C

Hey everyone, hope you all had a good xmas. Got called around to change over an old style pin type thermostat to a hive one for a family member. (Curse the holidays lol) and was a bit confused when I took the old one off the wall and saw how it was wired. I said just to get a central heating...

    Work out breaker size?

What you’re referring to is known as “Design Current” or “Ib” This is the amount of current that an item of electrical equipment will use under normal use. It’s the maximum current that will flow to operate the equipment. Using the Power Triangle. P I and V (Look it up for a picture) You can...

Is Voltage the Resonance of Electrons?

This is certainly above my level of understanding to be honest. Electronics is not something I've studied much. But it's very interesting all the same.

Is Voltage the Resonance of Electrons?

I'm not sure what you mean here as others have posted. But from my understanding resonance is only something that can happen in AC Circuits (I don't know about DC Circuits) with capacitors and inductors in it. But if I correctly remember the resonance frequency of something is when the...

Is this tester a game changer

But are they the gold standard though? Overall I just felt kinda "Meh" about it. I know some sparks will only use Megger.

Is this tester a game changer

In work we use the Megger 1741. I have used Fluke and Kewtech also. To be honest I prefer the Kewtech over the Megger and Fluke. I don't quite understand all the hype around Megger. I thought the Kewtech was a much better tester and easier to use.

Cannot get this fan with speed control working at all.

Update. Did it this morning. Removing the jumper got the on off button on the switch working but the speed control doesn't work. And we have to short out between L and T on the run on timer to get it to work in non-resetting mode.

Cannot get this fan with speed control working at all.

Actually. I think I might have figured it out now from reading the manual again. It states that for external speed control a jumper needs to be removed and I see that we still have it in place on the board. I'm thinking that might be why??

From memory I think it does. But I'm not 100% sure. I'll try that in the morning

Cannot get this fan with speed control working at all.

Hey everyone. Got a head scratcher for wiring a fan with a speed control with a run on timer on site today. I, and two spark could not get it working at all. We wired it according to how we think it must be done according to the wiring diagram supplied. We can get the fan to turn on. But no...

Only getting 170volts between line and neutral on shower?

No, that's why I was confused. No water flowing at all no matter what setting I put it on. But the indicator light was on however it was very dim. I even shut off the mains water and checked the filter and it wasn't blocked or anything. Again like I said solenoid was reading 3.5k ohms and the...

Only getting 170volts between line and neutral on shower?

Spark I work with is going round tomorrow to take a look. I'll report back what he finds. I might even tag along and annoy him for a bit. 🤣👍
