I passed my Level 3 practical today. I ended up with a credit.

Well chuffed!

If anybody has any questions about the exam just ask.

Well my college has 3 Test Rigs. (i'll try and put a picture of them on here)

They tell you there are 12 faults to find. 6 Visual & 6 Wiring faults.

The visuals i had were things like screw missing, label missing from the main bonding, missing shroud from the SWA. etc etc. Mostly obvious faults

The wiring ones you will find during your dead tests (PRIP). I had a permanently live light, Neutral - Earth Polarity on the ring, Open circuit on the ring. etc. When you find the fault the assessor switches the fault off.

We also had to do the live tests (Ze, PFC, Zs and RCD)

They're basically making sure you know how to do the tests and in the right order. If you stick to PRIP you will find all the faults pretty easily. Also the assessor asked questions. e.g. What is the disconnection time for an RCD test at 5xI

And finally filling out the Certificates etc.

Hope that helped ;-)
