Just had the following extractor fan fitted for my bathroom, recommended by my electrician.

Based on the manual it states the fan should be triggered by the relative humidity % however since installation this morning, it has been continuously on.

I have spoken to the electrician whom advised it is made to stay on all the time.

Am I misreading/misunderstanding the manual?
I have set the humidity to 90% to test the threshold however it still stays on...

It's clearly possible to set up the fan in different modes, and what modes may depend on the exact model the electrician fitted.

By "Made to stay on all the time" the electrician hopefully means trickle ventilation is set to be on all the time.

An option seems to be to have trickle ventilation all the time (a choice of volume of air being moved), then a boost when humidity is detected (choice of 2 boost speeds), reverting to trickle at the end of the (selectable) boost period.

After explaining the various options, I would have hoped your electrician would set it up as you wished.

In many circumstances, having permanent trickle ventilation in the background is a good thing, and it's not regarded as energy wasting! However if the fan is running noisily, perhaps it's not that!
