Got called out from a guy who said you are half price than the alarm engineer quoted me and said no cash just now send me your bank details and thanks for sending me the manuals 7 weeks later lots of emails and no show all for £45 I am putting this down to a one off but hopefully this is not a trend its not that he has no money it is just that he wont pay and he knows its not worth my while "A pox on your house" as they used to say

I just don't understand why you guys don't leave until you got the money in ya hands - £45 big deal, but its still money your owed, i don't leave or even turn up unless payment has been discussed. Why anyone can expect to have work done and get credit is beyond me, this old fashioned thinking needs to change - those days of "send me a bill mate" have gone, screw it, too many people take the mickey and bugger it up for others.

in today's world with paypal, CC's, BACS, instant BACS, no one has an excuse not to pay.

Rant over.

Dank I agree but for me I get this once a year for as I said £40-£60 and I can take the hit the problem is the practice of doing this getting worse or is it part and parcel of what we do for me 99.99% I have no probs with it is the odd person that does muck it up and also I have been around for a few years so I can suss people out before I get to that stage.

You say send me the bill mate is gone but I have found that 90% of my work is paid via BACS so the trend is going to a cashless society

Sure and thats sometimes a good thing - i want aiming at you, more venting my frustration with idiots taking the mickey with paying be that a tenner or a few thousand. A guy collected a thermostat from me one evening, he really needed it, had bought stuff of me in the past, i did him a favour and told him to stick the cash through the letter box (£50) - have i seen it? have i seen him? have i heck.

On the whole i dont think its getting worse, there are always going to be chancers in life.

It bugs me.
