Hi every one. As a subby, I install fire alarms for others but would like to know if i would need a fire alarm qualification to install, test and commission my own? Thanks

You dont need any qualifications, but this game is high risk, and you have to get it right....would always suggest contacting the FIA and completing their courses on design, installation, commissioning and servicing. There is a lot to learn.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have a look at what the costs are.

Compared to Electrical Trainee , caurses ....their costs are very reasonable at around £150-£250 per module.

Hello, If you have knowledge and experience of installing Fire alarms then i think no need of any qualifications. But now days people mostly prefer registered or qualified electricians. For your knowledge i want to tell you. There are various diploma courses in Fire Service Engineering (FR),Fire Safety Engineering (FS), Industrial Safety (IT), Fire Engineering (FI), Fire and Security Management (FU), Industrial Safety and Security Management (FF)
