Hello all

Right bought a set of slam lock plate kits for my vivaro.

Two months on and one of the plates is rusting that has a life time warranty. so I call company that I got them from to be told. no probs send it back we will look at it if faulty will send me a new one out. Told them that how is this possible / fair. As if I remove it my vans side door will not close / be secure. Basically told after that if I don't send it back first what they want do anything.

Can anyone give me any advice on fighting this.

Cheers

trading stasndards.

Did you go for the ones with the handle or the flush plates?, my mates ones had a bit of milky white tarnish after about a year but never any signs of red rust :(, maybe when installed they got contaminated with a tool that was just steel and this has caused the rust in that area?. I would send them a picture. Sorry to hear about this.

Tried trading standards who said I have to give them the chance to put it right even if it is unrealistic what they request. Defo rust. At first I mistakenly called another company that supply theses. they looked into it and said they accept there has been a bad batch that hasn't been coated properly. And was willing to send me another out but couldn't find much order. I have told the company I order them from this after they refused but was basically told tuff.

Well do us all a favour and at least tell us who this company is, then no one else will fall foul.

Thought these things were made from stainless anyway? Whats all the tosh about not being coated properly?

If try and ask them what u are supposed to do as imagine your insurance will be invalid if removed can they not send you a replacement and then fit this before returning the faulty one,
Alternately get a new one and take the old damaged ones back with the new receipt!

Had some of there deadlocks fitted to my van lock lasted a month and barrel fell out. Had to break in to the van. Sent the lock off to garrison to be told a pile of dog poo if I wanted the lock replaced it was going to cost me £50 for a new lock told them to stuff it.

So would garrison not send you out a new pair, then you change them over that day, send back the old ones and they credit you when they receive them and they see that they're faulty?
