When I see a proteus board I always assume bad workman ship, so far I've been right every time. Last 3, 1 borrowed neutrals (new), 2 socket cpc not connected (earth fault, new), 3 holes so large all manor of insects and mice crawled into it (see pic)

Even the older rewireable centaur stuff is crap, it baffles me how you could screw up slotting two pieces of metal into one another

Once again an OP goes to a fault and does not bring their test gear!!! This baffles me. Were you planing to fit the new RCBO and push the test button and if that worked walk away happy? No proper testing on it??
Yep, that's right.
Stupidly I thought, new board, breakers etc. Test certificate in place and all good. RCBO goes puff at a family friends house and calls me to ask about it.
I'm passing and decide to change it. Thinking it realistically is going to be a faulty breaker. Don't have my test gear on me??????????
What would you do?

???????????????????

When I am out working I always have my test gear with me. As I never know when I will need it. There are so many on here looking advice on faults and they all say the same thing "was passing and didn't have my test gear" makes me think that either they don't know how to test for the fault or they don't have test gear

what the frig is an "M2" ?
is it a brand ?

Haha, glad to see im not the only one that didn't know what an m2 was.....was reading the original post for ages trying to think, before scrolling down and being relieved that i was not alone.

As the saying goes, if you buy cheap you buy twice.

I always buy Hager, always reliable for me

Would say you are right and generally do. However on this occasion didn't. I think under most circumstances I would have, and wouldn't have gone to a fault finding job without.
It was an educated guess given the circumstances that it was a new board, satisfactory test results, I was passing by, and M2 gear was used which suggested that I'd be ok changing the rcbo.
Now apart from your holier than thou responses and letting us know you even take test gear to the cafe and the toilet with you, do you have any knowledge of this type of fault.

I can't say I've come across it before.

As I'm thinking. It's not a brand I would use but I won't be changing the board for them.
I'm going to run through the whole test for them tho as they've lost a bit of confidence in this guy.
