What's going on..

Had to do an EICR on this property, noticed a shed load of overheated Halogens on walking in...

Then I removed the board cover!!

Unusual connections to the supply side of the main switch!

And any idea why the neutrals were disconnected?

So many questions. How did they manage this? Why did they do this? Did someone finish that job and think "job well done" before screwing the cover on?

StevieWonders best work?

Who did it? Why? What the fox were they thinking?

As @Wilko said... SOOOOOOO many questions

Recent kitchen upgrade? Good old Kev from the pub, helping out. Could be a week one apprentice having a go. What a mess..

It looks like they've taken the neutral through a 32a mcb using g/y for some reason, I can't see where the yellow cable goes.
Do you know when this was done?

I believe the yellow cable is actually green/yellow (with just the yellow stripe on show) and it appears to go to the earthing bar :)

makes you wonder whatever other death traps they've installed. condemn it, rip it out, start over.

Also...

The kitchen had two ring final circuits, one of them was purely for the fridge. I think the last muppets to do electrics only knew that circuit type. Lol

Overall the other circuits were fine apart from lighting with Downlights, they cut earth out at each downlight :/

I've completed The Sunnday Times Crossword in less time than I've tried working this out, looks like they've linked the incoming neutral from the main switch to the earth bar with an earth sleeved cable???
