GMES

Sent Darrel on a job yesterday fault finding on a few circuits it turned in to 2 days, it finally all got resolved this afternoon by which time the customer had set off
down to Nottingham. ( he is a self employed upholsterer )
So i ring him at teatime to see what day would be convenient next week to collect payment, his reply was that's not fair on you you've got me out of trouble and deserve to be paid straight away, so the lad has diverted to Rotherham on his way back to Sheffield at 9pm tonight just so I could be paid for the weekend.
Bloody Diamond , why can't the world be full of customers like him.

I had one once who told me that he thought I'd undercharged him (which I had but that was my fault so I was going to stomach it, as you do)
He transfered £80 more to my account than I'd quoted.

Nice one GMES. Celebrate the good uns rather than moan about the bad uns.
Remember those customers as those are the ones that truly appreciate a quality service,
It really makes my day when that customer says "and there's another 20 for being so polite and tidy" or the business owner says "give me your account details so i can do a bank transfer now, as you've saved me a day's downtime"

Nowt like a bit of Friday positivity :D

Forgetting the payment side of it, it makes my day when a customer says 'thank you' - i actually leave with a smile and feeling good about myself ... helping someone out who appreciates it and all that.

So many ungreatful c u next tuesdays around these days.

I had (and only one) customer ring up after the job and thank me for the clean, neat and good work I had done, absolutely made my day.

That's exactly what he did Andy An extra £20.00 to give to Darrel for being polite and professinal
And that could be a new friday night thread positive moments Ha ha

Keeping up the positivity ,I had one today.
request for a copy invoice from their recent rewire.
emailed it across and said I'd put one through the door.
stuck a light fitting up in the dining room.
no charge. They paid by return and were greatful for sorting them out with their project.
put copy invoice through door and the woman of the house went running out to the car and gave me a bottle of tanquery no 10!
we had been discussing fancy gins when I was putting the light up.
how can all my customers not be like that?
the polar opposite of that is some hatchet faced auld crow that I did work for in 2008 looking for building control certs as she is now selling up.
she was due me money from back then n all.
i suddenly have a bit of selective deafness coming on

I installed a robot for a company in Wales, we had a week to get it in, commissioned and programmed during a shutdown so I worked straight through to Sunday to get it ready for production on the Monday. When we finished on the Sunday the maintenance manager took me out for a nice meal as a "thankyou", I called in on my way home on the Monday and the MD slipped me an envelope containing £50 (a decent amount in the 80's) for my efforts.

I'm finishing off a job today which I started a few weeks ago.
When I was last there the customer asked what to do about payment, I told him not to worry and that I'd bill him when I'd finished the work.
He said 'no no no, here you are', and gave me £200 to be on with!
