    I will get the EICR, but I was just wondering if there any way that cable is live in the connector block somehow or is just doing nothing in there.

    I just checked the light switches in the property I am about to buy and there is no earth connection to the metal front plate, it has been terminated in a block connector. Should the earth be connected or just change it to plastic? Many thanks, Peter
