    Thanks for your reply, marconi! Weirdly I've done almost exactly that. I figured by process of elimination I could pinpoint the cause. I left bottom element in situ and then set oven to use bottom element only, and to cook at 180 deg for about 20 mins. It got up to temp without issue, and is...
