Thanks Megawatt for your help...appreciate it so much!
I live way in the country so getting an electrician is not the easiest thing to do so I have to learn to do some things myself. :)
I'll check for a loose connection first. I'll post back if I find out anything.
The light is part of the garage door opener. So it only goes off when the garage door opener doesn't work. I probably was not too clear about that. :)
I just fixed the gfci outlet on the other wall. so that is no longer an issue and probably didn't have a thing to do with the garage door...
Hi Megawatt,
The garage door is not on a GFCI receptacle. It does not stop working when being used. We go out and the garage light doesn't turn on, that's how we know I need to flip the breaker again.
I do have a GFCI outlet that is not working too but it's on a different circuit breaker so I'm assuming it can't affect the other outlet, but not sure. I'm gonna buy a new outlet tomorrow.
If I unplug it, turn circuit breaker off and then on again and THEN plug the garage door back into the outlet, it works fine for a while.
How can I troubleshoot that to figure out the problem?
Thanks!
