    Well yeah before RCDs the MCB has to be at x3 - X5 and doesn't offer protection to life so yeah I've wondered this. I'm guessing the main potential danger is touching the pipe at the same time as the fault is considered much more dangerous than other faults because of its good link to earth.

    This is one of the strange things - The Tap is hot no matter what. The water entering the pump(for the shower only) is seems hot when the immersion has been on.
